The other shoe, I mean. I talked to the children’s home Monday morning and everything was going quite well. That means that something is likely to happen soon to change, but for now, I will enjoy their good fortune.
Monday morning, I had a very pleasant surprise. I was able to get through to chat with the children’s home. Just getting through was a surprise, but best of all, I was able to use video chat for a little while before the signal strength dropped to low.
If you have been reading my postings, you will know that signal strength is a big problem with connecting to the cellular network. The video would freeze intermittently but would restart without losing signal completely. That is a great improvement.
I got to see the children that I hadn’t seen for quite a while and am amazed at how they are growing. School is out so most of them were free to visit.

The younger ones were not sure about talking to me but they liked to look. I surprised them by using a few phrases of Bisayan that I had practiced that a friend has been teaching me.
All in all, it was an enjoyable brief visit, made especially pleasant since all was going well.
