I was chatting online with some of the children from the children’s home. One of the young teen girls asked me, “Daddy, (the children all call me that) am I pretty?”
As I talked to her, I realized that she was having the typical doubts and concerns about her self-image just like girls all over the world do at that age. I not only reassured her that she was pretty, but that real beauty comes from within and not just the outside appearances.
She had been teased by some of the other children at school because she didn’t have as much as they have. She is very shy anyway, so the teasing didn’t help.
